OKLAHOMA CITY - Competing at the State Swim Meet for the first time since 2012 last weekend, the Classen SAS Comets set multiple personal records in the pool in front of the State's best.
Leading the charge was the Comets' girls medley relay team, Elle Earley, Scout Howell-Dowd, Madeline Rogers, and Lila Guilford, who earned a 4th Place Finish in the State with a personal record time of 2:11.18.
Lila Guilford earned a spot in the A Final, securing a podium finish and placing 7th in the state with a personal record time of 2:29.24. She also placed 9th overall in the 100 freestyle with a time of 31.35, also a personal best.
Uma Geng swam a 28.61 in the 50 freestyle, earning 15th in the state. A highly competitive event with over 70 swimmers at regular season meets.
Madeline Rogers performed exceptionally well in the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle events. In the 100 butterfly, she earned a 4 second personal record, taking 3rd in her heat with a time of 1:09. In the 500 freestyle, she achieved an impressive 11 second personal record, earning 7th in the state and securing her spot to swim in the club state championships in two weeks.
Bentley Mendoza swam a 2:24.51 in the 200 IM, earning a 3 second personal record and placing 15th in the state.
The girls 200 yard relay team, Uma Geng, Elle Earley, Madeline Rogers, and Lila Guilford, placed 4th in the state with a time of 1:55.03.
The boys 200 yard relay team, Lucas Hobson, Bentley Mendoza, Vincent Markes, and Foster Jones placed 1st in the B heat, earning a 4-second personal record time of 1:46.68 and finishing 8th in the state.
