OKLAHOMA CITY - The Classen SAS @ Northeast athletic department announced the hiring of Madalyn Harper as the new girls cross-country head coach on Wednesday.

Harper arrives at Classen SAS after spending the last two years teaching elementary education in 3rd and 5th grades and being an Assistant Cross-Country Coach for Southern Nazarene University.

She graduated from Southern Nazarene University with her bachelor's degree in exercise science, and went on to obtain her masters degree in exercise science & health and human performance. In her time as a student-athlete, Harper was a well-polished cross-country and track star for the Crimson Storm in her career.

In her last collegiate cross-country season, she earned All-Conference Second Team honors at the GAC Conference Meet. For indoor track, she broke the school record for the 1000 meter run. In outdoor track of that same year, she was All-Conference Honorable Mention for the 1500 meter run, and 1600 (4x400) meter relay.

During her time at SNU, she received other various awards such as Cross-Country MVP in 2019, 2022, & 2023, Cross-Country LiveLast servant award in 2021, and the Track and field MVP in 2023.

"I have a passion to share my experiences with student-athletes, mentor them, and watch them grow." said Harper on Wednesday in her introductory press conference. "I can’t wait to build new relationships and to start this new journey at Classen SAS!"
