OKLAHOMA CITY - The Classen SAS @ Northeast athletic department announced the promotion of Rickey Vick as their new girls basketball head coach over the weekend.

"Coach Rick" is a highly accomplished basketball coach with a strong track record of success in both high school, collegiate, and professional coaching environments. Local to Oklahoma, he is a 2008 graduate of Edmond Santa Fe High School where he was a member of the ‘08 State Semi-Final Team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Kinesiology (Coaching Emphasis) from Fresno Pacific University, where he also played varsity basketball and led his team to numerous victories, including an undefeated home record and a NCCAA national semi-finalist position his senior year.

Coach Rick's coaching career is marked by significant achievements at Classen SAS @ Northeast in Oklahoma City, where he has served as the Assistant Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball since December 2018. Under his guidance, the team has achieved an impressive overall record of 130-27, secured the 2021-2022 Oklahoma Class 4A State Championship with a 24-1 record, and earned the #6 spot on ESPN and MaxPreps' national rankings. His tenure has produced three Division 1 starters and eight collegiate players, showcasing his ability to develop and mentor top-tier talent.

In addition to his role at Classen SAS, Coach Rick has been an Assistant Coach for Boys Varsity Basketball and Head Boys Freshman Basketball Coach at Edmond Santa Fe High School since June 2021. His leadership contributed to a 6A semi-finalist finish for the varsity team in 2022 and a 37-17 overall record for the freshman team, producing 4 college players in just three seasons at Santa Fe.

Coach Rick's professional experience includes serving as a certified skills trainer with 94FeetofGame, working closely with LA Lakers Assistant Coach Phil Handy. He is also a KneesOverToes ATG program rehab expert, trained by the program's inventor, Ben Patrick, focusing on lower body functionality, strength, rehabilitation, and flexibility.

Coach Rick's dedication to the sport and his players, combined with his strategic acumen and expertise in player development, make him a highly respected figure in the basketball community. His commitment to excellence and proven ability to lead teams to victory underscore his status as an exceptional coach, mentor, and leader.
