OKLAHOMA CITY — In a hard-fought match at Moses F. Miller Stadium, the Classen SAS@NE Lady Comets faced off against Kingfisher High School in a Girls Varsity Soccer showdown, ultimately succumbing to a 0-2 defeat.
The first half saw the Lady Comets struggling to gain momentum, conceding two goals early on. Despite the setback, the team rallied behind Left Back Chalyse Green, demonstrating resilience as they sought to regain control of the game.
As the second half commenced, the Lady Comets emerged with renewed vigor and determination. Led by Senior Amy Effinger, Sophomore Yoselin Santos, and Freshmen Avery Fisher and Harper LeForce, the team showcased impressive chemistry and orchestrated several attacking plays. However, despite their concerted efforts, they were unable to convert these opportunities into goals, ultimately falling short in their bid to overcome the early deficit.
Commenting on the performance, Junior Midfielder Emily De La Rosa noted, “The chemistry between Amy Effinger, Avery Fisher, Harper LeForce, and Yoselin Santos was definitely visible throughout the game. I am excited to see how the rest of the team responds to their chemistry and adapts to whole team chemistry.”
Coach Chris Germann echoed De La Rosa's sentiments, praising the individual performances of players such as Harper LeForce and Ariel Sosa, while highlighting Neha Kale's growing confidence in goalkeeping. Looking ahead, Germann expressed optimism about the team's potential, stating, "The second it clicks for the team, we will be exciting to watch!"
Despite the setback, the Lady Comets remain undeterred as they look forward to their next challenge. Classen SAS@NE will host Madill at Moses F. Miller Stadium on Friday, March 15th, with Girls JV kicking off at 3:30 pm followed by Girls Varsity at 6:00 pm.
