OKLAHOMA CITY — The Classen School of Advanced Studies at Northeast volleyball team captured the All-City Athletic Conference Tournament title Friday, winning the event for the second consecutive year.
The Comets swept through the bracket without dropping a set, defeating Douglass in the opening round, Northwest Classen in the semifinals, and Southeast in the championship match.
Head coach Robbie Nelson said the performance was an important step early in the season. “The ACAC is a key tournament used to set the tone for the upcoming season,” Nelson said.
Senior outside hitter Charlie Kaler said the victory carried added meaning in her final year. “Tournaments like this is huge for team morale,” Kaler said. “We are excited to compete this season and believe this gave us an opportunity to come together.”
