OKLAHOMA CITY — The Classen School of Advanced Studies at Northeast football team opened its season Thursday night at the All-City Athletic Conference Football Preview at Taft Stadium, showcasing both sides of the ball in a simulated game format.

Senior Malachi Ross set the tone early with an interception on defense before adding a touchdown on offense. The Comets also leaned on their backfield tandem of Oscar Rojas and Langston Plaire, who provided steady gains on the ground. Brandon Do contributed in the quick passing game to help move the ball.

On both sides of the ball, Guyjack Jones made an impact, hauling in tough contested catches while also recording multiple tackles. The Peterson brothers stood out as well, with the older Peterson creating havoc in the backfield and younger brother TJ completing over 70% of his passes, including the game-winning touchdown against Capitol Hill.

“Our team played hard all night,” head coach Riggs said. “We have work to do, but I’m super proud of our team and very appreciative of the support that showed up tonight to cheer on the team.”
