OKLAHOMA CITY — The Classen School of Advanced Studies at Northeast volleyball program opened its 2025 season with a clean sweep over Putnam City High School on Aug. 12, winning at every level.

The freshman and junior varsity squads set the tone early, taking every set against the Pirates. Varsity overcame a slow start, edging out a 25-23 win in the opening set before finding its rhythm to take the next two and secure the match sweep.

The victory helped the Comets shake off early-season nerves and reinforced high expectations for the year. With key returners such as senior Charlie Kaler and an influx of talented freshmen and sophomores, Classen SAS@NE is eyeing a deep run in the state playoffs.

“I don’t have really much to say except that this is how you come together and play as a team,” head coach Nelson said.

The Comets will next compete in the Midwest City High School Festival on Aug. 16.
