OKLAHOMA CITY - The Classen SAS athletic department announced the hiring of Tanzania Ortiz as the new Cheer head coach on Friday.

Coach Ortiz brings a deep passion for cheer, education, and student development to her new role with the Comets. A proud alumni of the University of Texas at San Antonio, she cheered throughout all four years of high school and continued her cheer career for a year at UTSA. She's now entering her third year coaching High School Varsity Cheer, and her sixth year as an educator with OKCPS.

"I'm unbelievably excited to get to work with the Classen SAS Cheer team." said Ortiz. "I hope to make a positive impact on our students, our spirit, and our school community!"

Coach Ortiz is passionate about helping students grow, not just in the classroom or on the mat, but in life. Her goal is to empower young athletes to be confident, disciplined, and successful leaders in everything they do.
